Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Housing and Infrastructure Manager, the Housing Coordinator supports housing and infrastructure for the K’ómoks community through day-to-day administrative tasks and by providing ongoing customer service. This position ensures housing matters are managed efficiently and effectively to ensure the maintenance and safety needs of the housing community.
What You Will Be Doing
- Building positive working relationships with community members by serving as a main point of contact for all incoming housing inquires
- Maintaining calendars, schedules requests/appointments and coordinating housing-related tasks and/or projects,
- Assisting in creating and drafting correspondence to tenants regarding moving dates
- Coordinate and oversee renovations of all homes located on reserve
- Keeping up with government changes and updates with available subsidies or any funding opportunities
- Maintaining current housing vacancy listings
- Providing general guidance and counsel on programs, policies, and services to the community
- Administering all housing inspections regularly and follow up as needed with the maintenance team and service providers (inspectors, engineers, and contractors)
- Assisting with creating housing policies and procedures for the community
- Assisting with preparing housing applications for housing programs, developing proposals and tenders, and using reports to make recommendations
- Ensuring record keeping and database is up to date
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Will Need
- 2+ years’ of experience working in a similar role preferably with experience in housing/building management administration
- Diploma or post-secondary training in a relevant field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Strong computer skills particularly in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working in and with the Indigenous community is an asset
Working Conditions
- This will be a full-time, permanent, in-office position.
