Summary of the role:

As a Visitor Information Counsellor (VIC), you’ll play a key role in creating unforgettable experiences for visitors and locals alike. You'll connect people to incredible attractions, services, and products from our member businesses while inspiring longer stays and return visits. This is your chance to thrive in a dynamic, sales-driven role that blends customer engagement, travel planning, and local expertise in the vibrant tourism industry. From recommending must-see attractions to booking tours and maintaining a welcoming Visitor Centre, you'll ensure every guest feels at home. You'll also help drive revenue generation, keep our materials fresh and stocked, and handle transactions with ease. If you're adaptable, enthusiastic, and eager to share your knowledge of our local gems, this is the role for you!
We are looking for Part-Time and Full-Time seasonal team members for the months of April to October. The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Experience working in a front-line sales-based customer service role and meeting sales targets.
- Experience working in the tourism industry is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island, surrounding areas and BC.
- Strong knowledge of local attractions, transportation and accommodations.
- They will be an energetic, approachable, sales-driven, and solutions-focused team player.
Team members at the Visitor Centre are also able to:
- Ability to work up to 8 hours a day, and to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Flexibility to work at different venues in the Greater Victoria area as needed.
- Open availability from April to October.
Wage: $20/hour - plus a bonus of up to $450 will be paid upon completion of contract.
