About the Role
As a part of the National Food Sharing Team, the Food Procurement Coordinator supports Food Banks Canada’s initiatives to supply the food bank network with a reliable supply of nutritious food. In this role, the Food Procurement Coordinator will assist with the execution of national food programs and donor stewardship, drafts and executes communication, supports program launches and incoming inquiries from the network, and ensures clean and consistent data is available for the food procurement programs across the organization.
What You Will Be Doing
Administrative support for all Food Banks Canada programs, including, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Procurement Team to assist with the execution and evaluation of Food Banks Canada programs, vendor and network strategies ensuring alignment with organizational goals and responsiveness to network needs
- Support with the collection, coordination, and management of program data to ensure accurate internal and external reporting
- Maintain program record keeping including the creation and approval of purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, tracking and payment
- Support vendors and donors with program specific guidance
- In collaboration with the Officer, Food Procurement, assist with execution of program communications to the network, enhancing awareness, engagement, and participation in procurement initiatives
- Act as a resource for vendors, donors, and the food bank network, including program consultation and onboarding, technical assistance, and developing, maintaining, and disseminating resources
- Maintain program technology such as websites, ordering portals, inventory management platforms, etc., to ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Work closely with the Donor Stewardship team to ensure the needs of vendors and donors are incorporated into stewardship plans and executed accordingly
- Liaise with donors, vendors and the food bank network to execute requests for donor stewardship assets, including logo or testimonial approval, picture and testimonial collection, social media requests, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma program or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Project coordination and issue management skills; ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
- Analytical mindset with the ability to organize data
- Clear, professional, and warm communicator
- Superior listening skills with the ability to interpret the concerns and interests of different groups of stakeholders
- Professional presence, with a positive attitude and self-starter, accountable approach project management
- Effective interpersonal skills and success in working in a team environment
- Problem solver and professionally curious with a strong interest in the mission of Food Banks Canada
- Excellent writer with experience developing effective communications materials for a variety of audiences
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
Working Conditions
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work
- This position is remote and may be based anywhere in Canada
