Summary of Marketing Specialist – Creative (12-month contract) role:
Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for storytelling through design, video, and digital media? We’re looking for a Marketing Specialist – Creative to join our dynamic marketing team and bring our brand to life! In this role, you’ll use your expert graphic design skills to craft compelling advertising, digital content, and collateral that captivate audiences and drive engagement. From developing striking visuals to editing eye-catching videos, you’ll ensure brand consistency while pushing creative boundaries. You’ll be at the forefront of our marketing efforts, contributing fresh ideas, managing photography and video assets, and delivering high-quality content that elevates the Destination Greater Victoria brand. This position is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in-office at least three times per week, requiring the successful candidate to be located in the Greater Victoria region. It is a full-time 35/hrs a week, 12-month contract role with a salary between $59,000-$67,000.
What you need to bring:
- A degree or diploma in marketing, graphic design, or another closely related field or a combination of education and/or work experience is required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing role, with significant graphic design responsibilities.
- Experience with headline copywriting and iconography.
- Highly proficient in, and strong technical knowledge of, the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Pro-active, self-motivated and results oriented.
- Efficient, organized, and able to juggle various tasks.
- Strong understanding of marketing concepts in the context of various print and digital media.
- Analytical skills and ability to interpret key marketing metrics.
- Experience utilizing content channels including TikTok, Instagram, and creating Instagram Reels is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Positive attitude, collaborative, and solution focused.
- Creative and detail oriented.
