About the Role
Are you a motivated fundraising professional with a passion for building lasting donor relationships and driving community engagement? We’re looking for an innovative and strategic Development Officer, Monthly & Community Giving to work in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy to expand and transform our monthly giving program and community-driven fundraising initiatives. In this role, you’ll oversee donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship, working closely with telemarketing vendors to optimize campaigns and ensure an outstanding donor experience. You’ll also cultivate relationships with individuals, businesses, and community groups, seeking new opportunities to inspire and grow grassroots fundraising efforts. With a strategic mindset and a drive to innovate, you’ll analyze data, craft compelling donor communications, and implement bold new strategies to elevate community giving. A successful candidate in this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about creating lasting change.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the telemarketing vendor relationship, collaborating on strategies to acquire and retain monthly donors while analyzing campaign metrics to drive continuous optimization and success.
- Collaborate with the Annual Giving Manager and Director of Philanthropy to find opportunities to expand the Monthly Giving Program by implementing and delivering additional ask strategies for different segments of monthly donors, and preparing collateral and supplementary materials for conversions, renewals and upgrades.
- Ensure a positive onboarding experience for new monthly donors by conducting welcome calls, sending welcome packages, and regularly reviewing and updating onboarding and offboarding email series.
- Create reports on monthly donor retention, acquisition and upgrades
- Develop, maintain, and steward relationships with individuals, local businesses, employee groups, and services clubs to raise funds and awareness for Food Banks Canada
- Support and guide community groups in organizing fundraising events (virtual or in-person), providing tools, resources, and expertise
- Regularly solicit feedback from monthly donors through surveys or interviews to enhance the donor experience and refine the giving process
What You Will Need
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in fundraising management (preferred) or public relations or communications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in fundraising for a not-for-profit or charitable organization working with donors
- Experience in telemarketing or vendor management
- Experience with budgeting and campaign analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong writing and proofreading skills
- Proficient with Mission CRM or equivalent donor management database
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to prioritize work, manage deliverables, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
Working Conditions
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work
- This position is remote and may be based anywhere in Canada
- Occasional travel within Canada may be required
